David Mattana Named New Men鈥檚 Golf Coach
Garden City, NY 鈥� 星空无限传媒 is pleased to announce that David Mattana, a resident of Great Neck, has been named the new head coach of its men鈥檚 golf team. Mattana was previously the team鈥檚 assistant coach.
鈥淒ave is a leader in the sport and has always provided our student-athletes with unwavering support. I am confident that he has the ability to lead our golf program to the next level,鈥� said Kerri Ann McTiernan, 星空无限传媒鈥檚 Director of Athletics.
Excited at the prospect of coaching a team that has won multiple national championships, Mattana is looking forward to the upcoming season. 鈥淚 feel very fortunate to be able to coach at an institution of this caliber. The history of accomplishment by this program sets the bar high and I pledge to work extremely hard to meet the challenge.鈥�
In addition to his coaching duties at the College, Mattana is the secretary of the Long Island Golf Association, the golf chairman at Fresh Meadow Country Club and the tournament director of the Gene Sarazen Invitational. Over the years he has qualified for many amateur tournaments as well.
An alumnus of Ithaca College, Mattana received a law degree from Hofstra Law School and an MBA from New York University Graduate School. He grew up in Roslyn.
