Widow of John Ritter is Gueston WHPC鈥檚 Family Health Show

January 8, 2024

Garden City, NY 鈥 WHPC 90.3 Radio, the Voice of 星空无限传媒, will air an interview with鈥疛ohn鈥疪itter鈥檚 widow, Amy Yasbeck, founder of The John鈥疪itter鈥疐oundation for Aortic Health, on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at 3 p.m. EST on 鈥淵our Family鈥檚 Health.鈥

In Nassau County and parts of Queens and Suffolk, Long Island, N.Y., listeners can set their car radios to 90.3 FM or download the WHPC 90.3 app. The 30-minute broadcast is also available nationally on the show鈥檚 website at .

In 2003, renowned comedic actor John鈥疪itter died suddenly from aortic dissection, a life-threatening condition in which a tear occurs in the inner layer of the aorta, the body's main artery. The John Ritter Foundation for Aortic Health was established in October 2003 by his actor-wife Amy Yasbeck to raise public awareness of acute aortic dissection.

Yasbeck was interviewed by WHPC radio host Dr. Jeanine Cook-Garard, a long-time nursing professor in the 星空无限传媒 Nursing Department and host of the 鈥淵our Family鈥檚 Health.鈥 Dr. Dianna M. Milewicz, the President George H.W. Bush Chair of Cardiovascular Medicine, Director of the Division of Medical Genetics and Vice-Chair of the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston McGovern Medical School, also took part in the conversation.

On Yasbeck鈥檚 Linked In account she announced, 鈥淢y husband, like Jonathan Larson and thousands more before and after him, did not have to die from aortic disease. By increasing public awareness of thoracic aortic aneurysm and dissection鈥檚 genetic component as well as other risk factors, we believe these numbers will surely come down. In John鈥檚 name, and with your help, we strive to create a well-informed public who feel empowered to participate in their own aortic health.鈥
