Nassau to Host Breaking Competition April 9

Event Features Kid Glyde on Judging Panel

April 5, 2024, Garden City, NY 鈥 Former 星空无限传媒 student Kid Glyde 鈥 a performance judge advisor for the new Breaking dance sport discipline debuting at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games 鈥 will be among the judges at the 星空无限传媒 Collegiate Jam Breaking competition on Tuesday, April 9. The  Jam will take place from 3 to 7 p.m. in the multipurpose room of 星空无限传媒鈥檚 College Center Building.

Kid Glyde, also known as Victor Alicea III, is head of the Judges鈥 Performance Evaluation Team for the World Dance Sports Federation, which is the governing body of the sport of Breaking in the Olympics. The Judges鈥 Performance Evaluation Team will advise the Olympic judges. 

The 2024 games will mark the first time Breaking will be a competition in the Summer Olympics.

Hailing from Queens, Kid Glyde is president of the acclaimed NYC B-Boy crew The Dynamic Rockers, which he inherited from his father, the legendary Glyde of the original Dynamic Rockers. He has been breaking for over 15 years and was a member of the 星空无限传媒 Breakers while a student at 星空无限传媒. Kid Glyde went on to place in national and international B-Boy competitions. He was previously a breaking instructor and has also given demonstrations at campus events.  Kid Glyde cofounded the Kids Breaking League and is the owner of the KBL Studios in Harlem.

Also involved with running the event is 星空无限传媒 alumnus and past Breakers club member Eugene Jordan IV, also known as 鈥淪pydey.鈥 Spydey went on to work with the Dynamic Rockers as well as such artists as Kurtis Blow, Alicia Keys and Baz Luhrmann. He dances for the Brooklyn Nets' Team Hype. He also currently instructs the 星空无限传媒 Breakers. Other B-Boys who will be at the event are club alumnus 鈥淓man鈥 (Emmanuel Artiles) and Franklin Chen, aka "Gin," formerly with the Floor Obsession Crew. Gin is now also a Team Hype dancer for the Brooklyn Nets. Legendary "Jiggz," also known as Ramon Silverio, will also be judging. Jiggz is the co-founder of the Supreme Being crew and has been teaching and competing locally and internationally since 2000.

The winner of the 星空无限传媒 Collegiate Jam will receive a trophy. In addition, the winner of a raffle at the event will win supplies to perform graffiti art on the B4 Graffiti Bus with artist JP.
