Garden City, NY 鈥 The 星空无限传媒 Cultural Program is proud to present 鈥淭he End of Anger:  A New Generation鈥檚 Take on Race and Rage鈥 presented by distinguished author, editor and columnist Ellis Cose. The program will take place on Monday, November 14 at 2:00 p.m. in the College Center Building.

Ellis Cose is an author, columnist, contributing editor for 鈥淣ewsweek鈥 magazine, and a former chairman of the editorial board and editorial page editor of 鈥淭he New York Daily News.鈥 He began his career as a weekly columnist for 鈥淭he Chicago Sun Times,鈥 becoming, at the age of 19, the youngest editorial page columnist ever employed by a major Chicago daily.

Cose鈥檚 piece 鈥淭he Rage of a Privileged Class鈥 was featured as a 鈥淣ewsweek鈥 cover story and his book 鈥淎 Man鈥檚 World鈥 was featured in 鈥淭he New York Times Book Review.鈥  He has written many other books, including 鈥淎 Nation of Strangers;鈥 鈥淭he Rebirth of Community Power;鈥 and 鈥淐olorblind:  Seeing Beyond Race in a Race-Obsessed World.鈥 Cose has been a 鈥淲eekend Edition鈥 commentator for NPR and served as a columnist and member of the board of contributors for 鈥淯SA Today.鈥 In addition to serving as a columnist, editor and national correspondent for 鈥淭he Chicago Sun Times,鈥 Cose has been a contributor and press critic for 鈥淭ime鈥 magazine. He has also appeared on 鈥淣ightline,鈥 鈥淒ateline鈥 and the 鈥淎BC Evening News,鈥 among other programs.  

Among the fellowships or individual grants Cose has received are ones from the Ford Foundation, the Andrew Mellon Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation and the Aspen Institute. He was also awarded three National Association of Black Journalists first place awards, two Clarion Awards and the New York Association of Black Journalists鈥 Lifetime Achievement Award.
