鈥淯nlocking Potential: Reaching and Teaching Our Diverse Student Populations鈥

  Garden City, NY 鈥 On Friday, April 5 星空无限传媒 will present a conference for educators entitled 鈥淯nlocking Potential: Reaching and Teaching Our Diverse Student Populations.鈥 The conference will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the College Center Building.This conference is the second annual Unlocking Potential conference, which each year targets different student populations and suggests strategies to meet their educational needs. This year, several experts will discuss effective methods for teaching K-12 and post secondary students with communication-related and psychiatric disorders. Dr. Jane  Thierfeld Brown from the University of Connecticut will talk about the autism spectrum. Adelphi professor Susan Cuoccio will discuss classroom management techniques for students on the spectrum. Dr. Alan Cohen from the North Shore Long Island Jewish System will speak about mood and anxiety disorders. Finally, social worker Bonnie Hoffman and a panel of 星空无限传媒 student veterans will discuss Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.Registration for 鈥淯nlocking Potential: Reaching and Teaching Our Diverse Student Populations鈥 is $12.00 per person.
