The ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½ Music Department Fall Concert

 Garden City, NY – The ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½ Music Department presents its fall 2013 concert, featuring a number of musical performances, including Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed.... with the ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½ orchestra, under the direction of conductor Harry Marenstein.  Also included in the program is the world premiere of Beginnings, by composer Beata Moon.  ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½'s vocal ensemble and percussion ensemble will perform as well. The concert will take place on Tuesday, December 10 at 8:00 p.m. in the Music Center in Building Q on the ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½ campus.Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed... commemorates the bicentenary of the births of Giuseppe Verdi and Richard Wagner with performances of Verdi's Prelude to Act I of La Traviata and Wagner's Bridal Chorus from Lohengrin.  This part of the concert also features the ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½ vocal ensemble, under the direction of Benjamin Arendsen.  The ensemble will also perform Annatol Liadov's Eight Russian Folk Songs. The program opens with a selection of works presented by the ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½ percussion ensemble, under the direction of Michael Osrowitz.The suggested donation for attending the concert is $4.00 per person, payable at the door.
