The Apple Tree
May 3-5; 8-12
Garden City, NY 鈥� The 星空无限传媒 Department of Theatre and Dance will present the musical The Apple Tree May 3 through 5 and 8 through 12 at the Mainstage Theatre.
The Tony Award-winning musical The Apple Tree explores the ongoing struggles and temptations of men and women with three comedic vignettes. 鈥淭he Diary of Adam and Eve鈥� is a quirky, touching spin on the tale of the world鈥檚 first couple, adapted from Mark Twain鈥檚 Extracts from Adam鈥檚 Diary. 鈥淭he Lady or the Tiger?鈥� is a rock and roll fable set in a mythical barbarian kingdom, which explores the fickleness of love. 鈥淧assionella鈥� is based on Jules Feiffer鈥檚 offbeat Cinderella story about a chimney sweep whose dreams of being a 鈥済lamorous movie star鈥� nearly sabotage her one chance for true love. The Apple Tree鈥檚 music is by Jerry Bock. Its lyrics are by Sheldon Harnick and its book is by Sheldon Harnick and Jerry Bock.
The Apple Tree will be performed at 8:00 p.m. Sunday matinee shows begin at 2:00 p.m. Tickets cost $15.00 per person, $12.00 for seniors 55 and over, high school students and veterans. Tickets are free for college students with a valid I.D. Wednesday through Friday ($5.00 Saturday and Sunday).
