星空无限传媒 Community Joins Together to Serve Those in Need & Honor 星空无限传媒 On-Site Workers,
including 30 Nursing Students on the Surveillance Testing Program Team
Garden City, NY 鈥� 星空无限传媒 continues its annual 鈥淒ay of Service鈥� on
Tuesday, April 13th with a day-long celebration to serve those in need and honor 星空无限传媒
on-site workers who have unselfishly dedicated their time over this past challenging
year, including 30 nursing students who serve on 星空无限传媒鈥檚 Surveillance Testing Program
team.
鈥淎t 星空无限传媒 we are committed to providing not only a high-quality education to the communities we serve, but participating as active members of those communities. For the last decade the College community has come together to dedicate their time to 星空无限传媒鈥檚 Day of Service and provide necessities for members of our Long Island communities,鈥� said Dr. Jermaine F. Williams, President, 星空无限传媒. 鈥淭his year, we also acknowledge the service of our 星空无限传媒 community members who were physically present at the College during this past challenging year, including 30 of our nursing students who have volunteered their time to serve as part of a team managing the College鈥檚 Surveillance Testing Program. Without these critical members of the 星空无限传媒 community, the College would not have been able to continue to provide the caliber of education and support resources our students are accustomed to and for that we honor them.鈥�
A decade ago, 星空无限传媒鈥檚 鈥淒ay of Service鈥� was developed by the College鈥檚 First Year Experience Program with the goal of bringing together the 星空无限传媒 community, administration, students, faculty and staff, to volunteer their time and talents to help those in need. For this year鈥檚 celebration, the 星空无限传媒 Fashion Club, working with local high school students, have created a digital button to commemorate the 2021 celebration. The image is included below and has been incorporated into a pin that will be distributed to all of our 星空无限传媒 frontline faculty, staff, and student aides involved in the COVID testing process on campus.
Additional projects for 星空无限传媒鈥檚 Day of Service include a children鈥檚 book drive, a campus cleanup with Covanta, an animal shelter donation drive as well as a donation drive for the Nest, 星空无限传媒鈥檚 on-campus food pantry. All collections will take place in the parking lot across from Public Safety. 星空无限传媒 is an institution where more than 14,000 full-time, part-time, Workforce Development and continuing education students start and continue their successful journey through higher education.
