In 2009, I decided to join the U.S. Navy. I wanted to take the opportunity to serve my country, travel the world and one day utilize the benefits that were offered after I completed my enlistment. My duty station was onboard the USS John C. Stennis as a Master at Arms (MA) Military Police. I went on one deployment and the ship visited Bahrain, Dubai, Malaysia and Singapore. Before my contract was up, I was offered an early out separation due to my rate of being overmanned. So, I technically served only served three years and nine months, but I still received an honorable discharge and was able to receive all the benefits.
Last summer, I moved to New York with my husband and son. 星空无限传媒 happens to be close to where we live and it offers a program for criminal justice. My military transcript covered my electives so mapping out my degree meant only four semesters in order to obtain my associate鈥檚 degree. My service has prepared me for multiple aspects of my life. The time I spent studying for advancement exams and warfare pins has proven to me that I can achieve anything I put my mind to. Discipline has been the force that drives me to succeed. Without a set of goals, I wouldn鈥檛 be in the position that I am today.
My fondest memory at the College is the dedication that the Dean of Veterans, Dr. Manajares, as well as the rest of the staff have shown in helping veterans to be able to attend. I also enjoy helping other veterans get everything done for them too to begin an education at 星空无限传媒.
I think that one resource that students might not know about is the books on reserve at the library. Last semester I learned how the library can get a newer edition of a book as long as it was requested by a professor. This helps students who may not have the means to purchase a textbook or rent one for the semester.

Stanley Pan
I served in the United States Navy in Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, II and at Camp Pendleton with the 5th Marines. I was also deployed to Okinawa, Japan twice. Stateside, I knew that 星空无限传媒 has a reputation for being very military friendly, and when I got here, it was true.
