How Apply to Radiation Therapy
General Information
Application Deadline: The application deadline for all students is the second Wednesday of February preceding the Fall semester for which the student is applying.
- All applicants accepted for the Radiation Therapy Program are admitted to the day division of the fall semester. Radiation Therapy is not offered in the evening.
- All students are expected to follow the policies as set forth in the and the Radiation Therapy Student Handbook.
Information & Requirements For All Applicants
- The Test for Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) is required for all applicants to the Radiation Therapy Program. Register for TEAS at . You will be registering for the TEAS for Nursing Students. Overall proficiency of 58.7 is required.
- All applicants for the Radiation Therapy Program must be legally eligible for employment and licensure in the United States at time of application, and must be of 鈥済ood moral character,鈥 as defined in the New York State Education Law as applicable to the profession of Radiation Therapy.
- Interview: An interview is required. Only candidates who meet the minimum criteria and have submitted a completed application by the deadline will be called for an interview.
- Placement in remediation may remove applicant from consideration. Some accepted students may have to take courses prior to their first semester.
- Criminal Background Check: If accepted into the program, a criminal background check is required at the cost of the applicant.
- Age qualification: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age on the first day of the first semester.
- Required Research: Applicants must research what the roles and responsibilities of a licensed Radiation Therapist include and have a basic understanding of their job description.
- Essay Requirement: The 300 word essay must be logically thought out, carefully proof-read and TYPED. In the essay, you will discuss your reasons for wishing to enter this field, and the qualities you possess that will enable you to be a capable Radiation Therapist.
- Medical Clearance: Students who are accepted into the Program must obtain medical clearance from their physicians, and approved by the 星空无限传媒 Health Service Center prior to starting the program. The cost of the medical tests and fees are the sole responsibility of the applicant, and cannot be reimbursed by the Program or College.
- Meeting all the published requirements does not guarantee an interview or acceptance into the program.
New Student Application Information & Requirements
- New students who have never previously attended 星空无限传媒, must apply through the Admissions Office.
- In addition to the above general requirements, the following is also required:
- Freshmen: 77 cumulative GPA. 2 years science (1 year biology, 1 year chemistry or physics); 2 years college preparatory math; minimum grades of 75 in science and math.
- Transfers: recommend completion of ENG 101, MAT 109, and a 4 credit College Laboratory Science, preferably A&P 1. Overall GPA 2.8 or better.
Current & Former 星空无限传媒 Students鈥揂pplication Information & Requirements
Change of Program Application
Students who meet one of the below criteria are considered a Change of Program applicant:
- Students are matriculated students currently attending 星空无限传媒
- Former 星空无限传媒 students who have been away from 星空无限传媒 for no more than 2 semesters and who have not attended another college since leaving 星空无限传媒.
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION:
Second Wednesday in February
Students who have never attended 星空无限传媒 must apply through the 星空无限传媒 Admissions Office.
Currently attending non-degree students should apply through the 星空无限传媒 Admissions Office.
In addition to the above general requirements, the following is also required:
- Recommended for consideration as a change of program applicant:
- ENG 100, 101 or ENG 108
- MAT 109* OR 2 years of high school math
- AHS 131** OR 4 credit College Laboratory Science
*MAT 109 strongly suggested; only academic math, i.e. geometry, trigonometry or pre-calculus considered
**Other laboratory science will be considered for admission as change of program; however accepted students must then complete Anatomy and Physiology in their first year.
- Overall GPA 2.8 or better
- All college grades must be 鈥淐鈥 or better; all High School grades must be 75 or better in math.
- Submit all supplemental documents with the completed application: TEAS exam scores, copies of all transcripts (unofficial copies are acceptable), and essay.
Steps to submit your Change of Program Application:
- Download, print, and complete the Change of Program Application.
- Gather all supplemental materials such as transcripts, test scores, essay, etc.
- Once you have all required documentation and have filled out this application, send all documents as attachments in one email to both Nikoleta.Naparstek@ncc.edu and Kelly.Stephenson@ncc.edu from your 星空无限传媒 student email account.
- Title the email subject line as follows: Last Name鈥揜TT Application
- Send from you 星空无限传媒 student email account.
